Marlborough – Eleanor V. (Nicholas) Bernier, 91, of Marlborough, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at Marlborough Hospital.
Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose Anna (Renaud) Nicholas and the wife of the late Gilbert U. Bernier, who died in 2006.
She had been employed for many years at the former Rich’s Department Store in Marlborough. She later worked at the Learning Center in Marlborough.
Mrs. Bernier was a woman who loved her family and whose family loved her.
She is survived by her sons, James and his wife Shiloh of North Dakota, Wayne and his wife Janice of Shrewsbury, Matthew and his wife Kathy of Marlborough, Mark and his wife Kristen of Hudson, Gilbert and his wife Michelle of Fayetteville, N.C., Roseann Young of Athol, Theresa Beaulieu and her husband Robert of Rindge, N.H., Janet Letendre of Webster, and Denise Brodeur and her husband Paul of Marlborough; 26 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Larrie Bernier, who died in 2009.
There are no funeral home visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Anne’s Church, 20 Boston Rd., Southborough. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
