Obit Eunice M. AllenMarlborough – Eunice M. (Davis) Allen, 87, formerly of Bolton, died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Marlborough.

Born in Hudson and later residing in Hopedale and Thornton, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Vernal and Gertrude (Darling) Davis and the wife of the late Frank L. Allen, who died in 1982.

Eunice had been employed for several years at the former Masciarelli Jewelers in Marlborough, owned by her late sister Sybil Masciarelli. She also worked for Sears and was a full charge bookkeeper at Austin Industries, Marlborough.

After the family moved to New Hampshire, she earned college credits, obtained her real estate license and became an officer of the local Board of Realtors.

Throughout her life, she took on leadership roles including Girl Scout leader. She also held office in her Sweet Adeline competition group and at her local woman’s club as well as garden club.

Eunice enjoyed genealogy research, reading and puzzles. She socialized at the Bolton Senior Center, always had a smile and brightened up the room wherever she went with a joke and a song for any occasion.

She is survived by her daughters, Heather Allen Preston and her husband James of Seabrook, N.H. and Karen Allen and her son Logan Allen Corcoran of Marlborough, and many nieces and nephews, who have remained close to her throughout her life.

She was also the sister of the late Sheldon Davis, Wilbur Davis, Priscilla (Davis) Rafus and Sybil (Davis) Masciarelli.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Burial will be held at Forest Vale Cemetery of Hudson at a later date.
