Marlborough – The Vin Bin in Marlborough will celebrate its 12th year in business with a Wine & Cheese Festival and Wine Sale Saturday, Sept. 17, from 2- 6 p.m.
The festival and sale has become a big Main Street tradition in downtown Marlborough each fall. Hundreds of foodies descend on the store, located in a century-old fire station, to sample some of the finest cheese, wine and beer available.
This year, more than 100 wines, craft beers and local cheeses will be on display for sampling and buying.
The Vin Bin will offer a wine sale with additional door buster specials. The event is free admission and open to anyone 21 years or older. For guests who prefer a bit more sophistication, the Vin Bin sells Riedel stemware for $5 to enjoy sipping wine.
The Vin Bin opened its doors across the street from its current location in 2004 and quickly became the go-to place for fine wine, gourmet cheese and fancy foods.
The store moved to its current location, 91 Main St., in 2011, taking over the former Central Fire Station, which had been vacant for 15 years.
Since moving, the Vin Bin opened its now famous Vin Bin Café, which has earned a reputation as the best lunch spot in Metrowest.
The café will be open during the festival on Sept. 17.
The Vin Bin also has two other locations, 22 South St., Hopkinton, and 154 Turnpike Road, Southborough.
