Hampton, N.H. – Dawn M. (Peak) Mattson, 53, of Hampton, N.H., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at Mass General Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Todd Mattson, who passed away in 1998.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of Betty Peak of Southborough and James Peak of California.

Dawn was a 1981 graduate of Algonquin Regional High School and lost her beloved husband, Todd, when their daughter was only 5. She was a devoted single mom who owned and operated a cleaning service.

Dawn loved the mountains, beaches, and all the natural wonders of New Hampshire.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Mattson of Portsmouth, N.H.; a brother, David Peak of Dudley; a sister, Kristin Herther of Bedford; maternal grandmother, Alice Kavanaugh of Southborough; an aunt, Susan Kavanaugh of Southborough; two uncles, Lee Kavanaugh of Pelham and Jack Kavanaugh of Nova Scotia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, with visiting hours from 1-3 p.m., at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton, N.H.  Arrangements are under the care of the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough.
