Shrewsbury – On a beautiful and cool early fall weekend, both residents and visitors alike, flocked to Shrewsbury Sept. 24-25 to enjoy the 20th annual Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival events.
On Sept. 24 over 100 town organizations, nonprofit and community groups, as well as many local businesses, were sited under and around a big tent on the grounds of the Oak Middle School, as part of the Town Expo. Nearby crafters and food vendors were set up to cater to those wishing to shop and have a snack.
The Shrewsbury High School (SHS) First Robotics Team 457 held a demonstration outside the school while other members of the team hosted a Kids Carnival. Gymnasts from the Gymnastics Learning Center showcased a variety of their moves on balance beams and mats.
Inside the school members of the SHS Speech and Debate Team hosted a Bingo fundraiser while local youth participated in a talent show held in the auditorium which was hosted by the India Society.
That night residents enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display set off at the Glavin Center, allowing for many to enjoy it from sites all over Route 9.
