The Villages, Fla. – Nelson G. Carlson, 81, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Wells, Maine and Grafton, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 at his residence, under the loving care of family.
Mr. Carlson was born May 18, 1935 in Worcester to his parents, Ivar Carlson and Linnea (Svenson) Carlson.
He was a retired executive with over 30 years of service for the Chrysler Corporation.
He and his loving wife moved to The Villages from Wells, Maine in 2009, and were members of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores A. Carlson of The Villages, Fla.; three sons, Steven (Barbara) Carlson of Wells, Maine, Kenneth (Kristin) Carlson of The Villages, and Kevin Carlson of Derry, N.H.; two daughters, Linda Carlson Stem of The Villages and Maria Carlson of Manchester, N.H.; two brothers, Richard Carlson of Puyallop, Wash. and Roger Carlson of Covington, Wash.; two sisters, Margaret Souda of Shrewsbury and Linnea Mazejka of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Nancy Kielinen, Ivar Carlson, Ronald Carlson, and Charlotte O’Shannon.
All are welcome to gather with Nelson’s family and friends Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at St. Phillip’s Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m. He will then be laid to rest at St. Phillip’s Cemetery in Grafton.
