Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Historical Society, 17 Church Road, will present “Shrewsbury’s Great Bear of Wall Street: The Story of Multi-millionaire Jesse Lauriston Livermore” by John Campbell Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.

This PowerPoint presentation tells the story of Shrewsbury native Jesse Livermore who was the most famous Wall Street Speculator of the first half of the 20th century. Known as the “Boy Plunger” and the “Great Bear of Wall Street,” he was famous for his flamboyant lifestyle and for making and losing multi-million dollar fortunes during the market crashes of 1907 and 1929.

Shrewsbury resident John T. Campbell is a member of the Shrewsbury Historical Society and chair of the Shrewsbury Historic District Commission.
