Hudson – Angelina Sousa, 92, of Hudson, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at the Marie Esther Health Center in Marlborough. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Antonio Sousa, who died in 1998.

Angelina was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Borges) Leandres. She immigrated to Hudson from Portugal in 1974. She had resided in Hudson since 1974, and was a longtime employee of the Thomas Taylor and Sons Co. of Hudson. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

She leaves her devoted children, Maria Terra and her husband Antonio of Shrewsbury, Ilda Carvalho and her husband Jose of Hudson, Jose Sousa and his wife Fatima of Canada, Manuel Sousa and his wife Beatriz of Hudson, Antonio Sousa of Hudson, Adelaide Resendes and her husband Antonio of Hudson, and Zulmira Wirzbicki and her husband David of Gardner. She is also survived by her 23 loving grandchildren, 46 adoring great-grandchildren, and her three great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Angelina truly enjoyed preparing special dinners and cooking for the family. She cherished the holidays, especially Christmas when the entire family would gather at her home to celebrate together. She always looked forward to trips to Santa Maria to visit with family and friends. Her loving and giving spirit will be forever cherished by all who loved and knew her.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson.
