Hudson – Barbara A. (Byron) McPartlen, 89, of Hudson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016. She was the wife of the late James J. (Sonny) McPartlen.

Barbara was born in Hudson, daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Cronin) Byron. She was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1945.

Barbara was employed for many years at the Thomas Taylor and Sons Company in Hudson.

She was a former member of the Hudson Emblem Club. She enjoyed reading, going to the theater and traveling with her family.

She is survived by her four children, Mary Ann Crowder of Woodbridge, Va., Michael McPartlen and his wife Sarah of Glover, Vt., James McPartlen of New York, N.Y., and Paul McPartlen and his partner Carol Dowen of Hudson. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Dillon, Nathan, Sean, and Maggie Jean, as well as her great-granddaughter, Emma, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sister, Anne and her husband Richard Gardner, and was predeceased by her sisters, C. Jean Morin and Clare Byron.

The family would like to thank Home Care Solutions, as well as MetroWest Homecare Hospice, for their kind and compassionate care.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m., at Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 4-7 p.m., at the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson (www.tighehamilton.com).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Hudson Senior Center, 29 Church St., Hudson, MA 01749.
