Shrewsbury – The fourth-seed Shrewsbury High School Colonials girls volleyball team easily defeated the Doherty High School Highlanders 3-0 in the first round of the Central/West Division 1 playoffs. The match was played Nov. 3, at Shrewsbury High School.
Shrewsbury easily won the first two games by scores of 25-8 and 25-7. Doherty initially kept the third game close, with the score tied 8-8 at one point, before Shrewsbury rallied for a 25-14 win.
Shrewsbury, now 17-4 on the season, advances to play Westford Academy on Monday, November 7. Doherty concludes their season with an overall 8-13 record.
