obit-sister-juliette-collignonMarlborough – Sister Juliette Collignon, 89, a Sister of St. Anne, died at Marie Esther Health Center in this city Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016. Sister Juliette was in her 68th year of vowed religious life.

She was the second of six children born to Gaston and Rosa (Casse) Collignon in Central Falls, R.I. Following high school, she joined the Sisters of St. Anne in Lachine, Quebec, pronounced vows, and was known as Sister M. Louise du Rosaire. In the next 68 years, Sister Juliette was missioned as teacher and administrator in New England elementary schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Anne and as a guidance counselor in other Catholic schools in Massachusetts and in Rhode Island.

After an active classroom history, Sister Juliette served five years as principal of Holy Name Central Catholic High School in Worcester. Following this assignment, she spent the next years as a guidance counselor at Bishop Feehan High School in Atteboro, at the former Notre Dame High School in Central Falls, R.I., and at St. Xavier Academy in Province, R.I. In later years, Sister Juliette did tutoring.

Sister Juliette was predeceased by her parents and siblings. She is grieved by her brother-in-law, Andre Petit; her nieces, Diane Petit, Christine Mellor, Celeste Kulz, and Danielle Chartier; and her like-family friend, Sister Judith Dupuy, SSA and the Sisters of St. Anne.

There will be a viewing hour Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 9 a.m., at St. Anne Convent, 720 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough, followed by her funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. in the convent chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fitzgerald &Collins Funeral Home on Lincoln Street in Marlborough.
