Leominster – Edward J. Barton, 52, of Leominster, formerly of Westborough, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare-University Hospital in Worcester.
Born in Marlborough, he is the son of Helen J. (Goggin) Barton of Westborough and the late Luke P. Barton. He was educated in Westborough schools. After high school, he received his Journeyman Electrician Certificate from Assabet Regional Vocational School, and later earned his Master Electrician License.
Ed was a self-employed electrician and enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, archery and being outdoors with family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Francis P. Barton and his wife Maureen of Saratoga, Calif., Eileen A. Grimley and her husband Daniel of Grafton, William J. Barton of Westborough, Constance A. Barton of Cambridge, Lawrence E. Barton of Shrewsbury, Terrence A. Barton and his wife Kim of Westborough, and Nancy J. Serapiglia and her husband Michael of Northborough; many nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews and one great-niece. He was the brother of the late Daniel David Barton and Michael Patrick Barton.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. All are welcome. Burial, at a later date, will be private. Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Sunday, Dec. 11, from 2-5 p.m.
