Southborough – Police Chief Kenneth Paulhus released this statement this morning:
The Southborough Police Department would like to alert the public to the discovery of a credit card skimming device located on pump number two at the Mobil Gas Station, 76 Turnpike Road, (Route 9), at the corner of Oak Hill Road. The skimmer was observed on December 8th at approximately 3:30 p.m. during a pump inspection conducted by an outside maintenance company.
It is unknown how long the device might have been attached to the pump. The MetroWest area has been subject to many similar events in recent weeks. Anyone suspecting that their personal information has been compromised should contact their credit companies or local police department for further guidance. Persons having further information should contact the Southborough Police Detective Division at (508) 485-2121.
