Marlborough – Dorothy “Dot” A. Gill, a lifelong resident of Marlborough, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016.

Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Virginia M. Hennebury and William “Ed” Gill.

She leaves her brothers, Martin J. and Charles E. Gill, and her nephew and nieces, James, Katherine and Charlotte Gill. She also leaves her dear aunts, Marjorie and Marie Gill of Hudson, to whom she was devoted and who considered her “like a daughter to us.”

Dot was an invaluable employee of the Town of Hudson, spending the last 25 years as office manager of the DPW. She is remembered as hard working, kind, and a great organizer. She will be sorely missed by the employees of the town.

Dorothy was also a dedicated member of the Board of Directors of the Hudson Municipal Credit Union.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough.
