Shrewsbury – Eleanor F. “Farmer” Norwood, 92, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 in UMass Memorial Hospital after an illness.
She leaves two brothers, Robert Norwood and George Norwood, both of Worcester; a sister, Shirley E. Amlaw of Worcester; several nieces and nephews, including Karen L. Amlaw of Westborough and Robert E. Amlaw of Worcester; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Eleanor was born in Worcester, daughter of George O. and Grace E. (Fiske) Norwood.
She worked at US Envelope Co. for 15 years, and then worked at Hahneman Hospital for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Audubon Society.
She was always quick to help others. She loved children and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her nieces and nephews, especially her great-nieces, Jennifer and Sarah Amlaw. She was very active with the Francis Gardens Women’s Club.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m., in Hope Cemetery of Worcester. There are no calling hours. Britton Shrewsbury Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
