He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carol (LaCroix) Caron; his sons, Richard Caron and Stacy Gonzalez and Christopher Caron and his wife Tammy; and his grandchildren, Maggie Lynne and Jonathan Roy Caron.
Richard was born July 23, 1947 in Worcester, son of the late Helen (Murphy) and Wilfred Caron. He grew up in the city, but established his roots in Grafton where he and Carol raised their children and lived for more than 40 years.
He worked for E.L. Dauphinais and then Aggregate Industries in Grafton for 30 years.
Richard could often be found locally hunting and fishing or driving his classic 1957 Chevy as he loved vintage cars. He and Carol prized their getaways to Cape Cod, where they would find the beach or visit the canal to watch to boats pass by or to the white sands at Key West Florida where they went for many years. Closer to home he adored his grandchildren, Jon and Maggie, and found great joy in being a “Grandpa.”
All are welcome to gather with Richard’s family and friends Friday, Jan. 6, from 5-8 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Funeral services and burial will be private.
