Letter to the Editor – Thank you to Good Samaritans!

    To the Editor:

I just wanted to send out a big thank you to a very helpful and generous group of men who took it upon themselves to lend a hand when my high school senior was in some trouble this week.

On Thursday, Jan. 12, my daughter was on her way to school and stopped at Dunks for a coffee.  When she came out she noticed her right rear tire was completely flat!  Never having dealt with this issue before, she called me and was clearly upset because she felt stranded and was now going to be late for school. She had no idea what to do in this situation.

Luckily for her, a group of guys nearby sprang into action and offered to help. They located a spare tire in the trunk and then proceeded to try and remove the flat.  With no luck, one man ran across the street to the gas station, bought something to patch the tire and then using his own money, filled the tire with air.  It was a success and my daughter was able to get on her way.  They all refused to take any cash. What good Samaritans!

It’s nice to know that in this crazy world that some people still have big hearts and are more than willing to just be plain, old nice!  I am so grateful to all of you gentlemen and my daughter was so impressed and touched by your generosity to help someone in need.

Happy New Year to all the good ones out there!  And thank you so much!!
