Marlborough – A group of Sisters of St. Anne and members of nearby communities joined more than 90 other groups across the nation recently to “Circle Our Cities in Love.”

Sr. Rita Petruziello of the Congregation of St. Joseph in Cleveland, Ohio, began the Circle the City with Love movement during the Republican National Convention last July.

The movement again brought people together in love, this time ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Trump.

On Jan. 15, between 3-3:30 p.m., organizers said, “the power of love became a demonstration of solidarity to ‘begin anew’ in peace.”  Groups were asked to gather, forming circles, where for 30 minutes the participants stood as witnesses “to the power of love that can transform our nation.” The group in Marlborough joined with groups across the nation in silent prayer and meditation.
