Hudson – Leita Marie (Holly) Rodger, 91, of Hudson, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Day-Kimball Hospital, Putnam, Conn., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born and raised in Maynard, the daughter of William and Mary (Comeau) Holly. She was a graduate of Maynard High School. She met and married her devoted husband of 57 years, Donald W. Rodger (predeceased), and moved to Hudson where they lived and raised their three children.

Leita was a caring and loving person, had a passion for her gardens and friends, and was happiest when surrounded by her family. Besides a mother and homemaker, Leita worked for Raytheon, Sudbury Labs and Clinton Colonial Press. Before retiring she was employed for 15 years at the Mulready Elementary School cafeteria.

Leita was a past member and president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her three children, William Rodger and his wife Jeannette of Hudson, Holly Brooks and her husband Gary of Windham, Maine, and Lisa Vangel and her husband George of Brooklyn, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Stephen Rodger and his wife Leah, Nicole Pereira and her husband Joseph, Allison Brooks, Keriann Brooks, Jessica Vangel, Ashley Vangel, and John Vangel; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Aria Pereira and Penelope Rodger; a brother, John Holly and his wife Joyce of Plymouth, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred and Virginia Holly and Gloria Nilges, and her brothers, William Holly Jr. and George Robert Holly.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Feb. 10, from 4-7 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St. (Route 62), Hudson. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 11, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson, with burial following in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson.
