Marlborough -The Marlborough Police Department released this statement regarding a recent arrest of a man for trafficking in cocaine:
On February 8th at approximately 4:00pm the Marlborough Police Department Investigations Unit with the assistance of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council(CEMLEC) SWAT team executed a search warrant at 83 Mill Street. For officer safety purposes, the CEMLEC team was used to make entry to the location. The search warrant was the culmination of an investigation into the distribution of cocaine in the City of Marlborough. The warrant was executed successfully and resulted in the seizure of approximately 40 grams of cocaine. In addition, based upon the events of the investigation and the evidence collected, Carlos J. Baez was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine (36-100 grams), Distribution of a class B substance (subsequent offense), and Possession of a class B substance. Cash, a cell phone, and other property were seized as a result of the arrest. The Marlborough Police Department continues to investigate narcotics distribution in the City and welcomes any information or assistance which the public may wish to provide.
