Northborough – Joseph T. LaPierre, 89, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at Beaumont of Northborough after a short illness.
He leaves his devoted wife of 70 years, Roberta P. (Kenward) LaPierre; his loving children, Corrie Martin and her husband Thomas of Boylston and Jody LaPierre and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sons, Randall LaPierre and Robert LaPierre.
Joe was born and raised in Monson, son of Napolean and Corrine (Arsenault) LaPierre. A veteran of WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific.
He lived in Northborough from 1968 until the time of his passing.
Joe was employed by Nelson Freightways out of Rockville, Conn. and Westborough for 18 years, and continued working in the trucking industry thereafter.
He enjoyed boating, camping and loved to build model airplanes.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, from 10-11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral at 11 a.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Military honors will take place at the conclusion of the funeral. A private burial will be held at a later date.
