Marlborough – Five students from Marlborough Public Schools have been selected to participate in the 2016-17 All State Music Concert. Led by Jonathan D. Rosenthal, Music Director, and Shannon K. Phypers, Choral Director, the following students were selected: Kaley Davis (soprano, chorus); Timothy Goliger (tenor, chorus); Noah Ogden (tenor, chorus); Justin Bartlett (alto saxophone, jazz); Matthew Pearl (tenor saxophone, jazz). Bartlett and Pearl earned the highest scores in the state in their categories.

These students will perform with 500 of the most talented student musicians from across the state. These musicians, selected as Symphony Hall Scholars, will take center stage at Boston Symphony Hall Saturday, March 11.

To achieve the status of Symphony Hall Scholar, these students must go through two very rigorous auditions, one at the district level, where over 4,000 students are represented, and then, if recommended, they move to the All State audition, where over 1,000 students compete for the honor of performing at Symphony Hall.
