Sylvio R. Blais, 70, of MarlboroughMarlborough – Sylvio R. Blais, 70, of Marlborough, passed into eternal rest Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester.

Born May 5, 1946 in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Elphege and Angeline (Pomerleau) Blais and the husband of 52 years to Mary Ellen (Cafarella) Blais.

Sylvio was employed at General Motors Corporation for 30 years as an assembly worker in Framingham and Lockport, N.Y., before retiring in February 1995.

He was a devout Boston sports fan and avid card player.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and four grandchildren, Thomas and his wife Elizabeth of Marlborough, Richard and his wife Donna and their daughters Rachelle and Lindsey of West Boylston, and Brian and his daughter Kaylie and son Joshua of Marlborough. He also leaves three brothers, Robert and Donald of Jacksonville, Fla. and Richard of Fredericksburg, Va., and one sister, Lucille Monti of Marlborough. He was also the brother of the late Julien Blais, Norman Blais, Therese Gaynor, Claudette Gaynor, and Marie Paulle Blais.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. There are no visiting hours and burial will be private.

Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
