Northborough – The Northborough Education Foundation (NEF) recently received two donations in the amount of $2,500 each from Northboro Chiropractic Center and Wheelhouse Wealth Advisors. The donations were earmarked for NEF’s Chromebooks for Classrooms campaign, which was kicked off in April 2016.

The goal of the campaign is to provide the Northborough school district with additional devices to allow greater access by all students and classrooms. This will also ensure that Northborough meets the technology literacy standards set by the state of Massachusetts. The objective of the campaign is to fund the purchase of at least 200 Chromebooks by the end of the 2016-2017 school year.

NEF president Marile Borden was excited to see this type of support from local businesses.

“Our goal of $50,000 in 15 months is ambitious,” she said. “It is the largest initiative that we have taken on in the eight years that I have been involved with the organization. We could not do it without these generous contributions.”

The two donations helped NEF surpass the halfway mark of their goal with five months left in the campaign.

One donor was Northboro Chiropractic Center, which has been delivering quality wellness-based family chiropractic care to the Central Massachusetts community since 1984.

Dr. Karen Moriarty said, “We are happy to be able to give back to this great community. We’re so pleased to help give the kids the technology resources they need.”

Wheelhouse Wealth Advisors, an independent professional advisor in Hopkinton, offers personalized investment strategy. Its branch manager, John Postizzi, is a Northborough resident.

“I have kids in the Northborough schools,” he said. “Access to technology is fundamental to assuring our children’s education will prepare them for the future. I am thrilled to contribute to this wonderful program.”

NEF’s campaign continues through June 2017 and further information can be found at www.northboroughed.org.
