Westborough – Several dozen Vietnam veterans and family members gathered at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9013, Jan. 28, 2017 for a special award ceremony. The Vietnam the 50th Massachusetts, Inc., a nonprofit organization, presented to the gathered vets, who had served in the Vietnam War 1960-1975, a special commemorative pin marking their service in the Vietnam War. The pin was authorized by the Department of Defense to give a belated “welcome home” to Vietnam vets. A similar ceremony was held in October in the Worcester DCU Center.
Steve Petak, the chair of the Massachusetts Vietnam 50th group, based in Milford, presented the pins to veterans, assisted by 50th Massachusetts Group members Earl Fahey and Frank Andreotti, Jr.
Veterans from all conflicts and their families are welcome to join VFW Post 9013 (http://myvfw.org/ma/post9013/).
