Westborough – Julio’s Liquors is excited to once again celebrate its annual “GO! Whisk(e)y” Weekend at its 140 Turnpike Road, Westborough location. A mecca for whiskey lovers, the conference will take place from Wednesday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 26. For over a decade, the action packed five day event has attracted people from all over the nation, hobbyists and experts alike. To top it off, the majority of the events and tastings at the conference are free, while VIP tickets are available for those looking to make the most of their experience.
The highlight of “GO! Whisk(e)y” Weekend, the Loch & K(e)y Society’s Grand Dram Tasting will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 1-4 p.m. At the free tasting, a variety of over 400 Drams from around the world will be available for guests to taste.
“At Julio’s, we love whiskey,” said Julio’s Liquors owner Ryan Maloney. “We are world renowned for our whiskey selection, so what better place to hold the largest whiskey tasting event in New England?”
The conference will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. with a free preview mini tasting of some of the hundreds of whiskies that will be available to taste over the course of the weekend. The festivities continue with a Skinner Auction sponsored tasting event on Thursday, Feb. 23 and an Ardbeg tasting and dinner on Friday, Feb. 24 that will feature Master Distiller Mickey Heads. Saturday, Feb. 25 is jam packed with whiskey seminars, many of which are free, and will include special guests such as David Blackmore, Global Master Brand Ambassador for Glenmorangie, among many others.
On Saturday evening, a “meet and greet” will be held from 7-9 p.m. for event attendees to taste whiskey and talk to representatives from over 20 different distilleries. The weekend will come to a close on Sunday, Feb. 26 with the most popular event of the weekend, the Grand Dram. This special tasting will feature over 400 whiskies from around the world, all available for guests to taste for free.
