Marlborough – Sheryl J. Bird, 67, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was born in Norwalk, Conn., the daughter of the late R. Kenyon and Joan (Barrett) Bird ,and lived in Marlborough for over 30 years.
Sheryl was a dedicated veterinary assistant, working at the Framingham Animal Hospital for many years before having to retire due to health issues. She had a particular fondness for cats.
Sheryl was an avid reader.
She is survived by three sisters, Judith Purcell of Florida, Linda Rausch of California, and Patricia Bird of Boston, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday, March 17, at 11 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Animal Rescue League, 10 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116.
