Marlborough – Dorothy E. (Neal) Hynes, 93, of Marlborough, formerly of Cambridge and Arlington, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Northborough.
Born and raised in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Jessie Neal, and the wife of the late Edward Hynes who died in July 1999.
She is survived by her son, Ronald E. Hynes and wife Janice, of Marlborough, with whom she had resided; her grandson, Jonathan E. Hynes of Marlborough, and her granddaughter, Linda Soto and her husband Miguel Soto of Phoenix, Ariz.; her sister, Jean Sweetland of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Arthur Neal, Fredrick Neal, Beatrice Collins and Phyllis McComas.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends, whether it was cheering on the Red Sox or Patriots, dining out or at a family outing. She also loved spending time with the family dogs, Maggie and Sophie.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 24, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m., at the Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
