Northborough – Town Administrator John Coderre presented a revised Town Meeting Warrant to selectmen at their March 27 meeting for their approval.
Missing from this version is an article pertaining to the Culvert Street cell tower that the town owns, authorizing a contract for a lease agreement greater than three years. Coderre informed the board that the town can only enter into an agreement for up to three years without Town
Meeting’s approval. He further relayed that Assistant Town Administrator Kim Foster had learned from town counsel that under the original acquisition, they have the authority through the Conservation Commission to issue a new request for proposal (RFP).
The warrant remains essentially the same; articles are re-numbered and town counsel still needs to review some of the language regarding zoning. Coderre asked the board to approve and authorize the posting of the warrant by Tuesday, April 10, in accordance with town bylaw.
He did draw attention to an on-again off-again article relevant to the continued debt-serving of White Cliffs because they are still waiting to see if they were going ahead with its procurement based on remediation. Town counsel recommendation was to put an article on the warrant which can be passed over if need be.
The board unanimously approved the warrant’s execution. Town Meeting will take place
Monday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St.
The board also approved the execution of the warrant for the Town Election which will take place Tuesday, May 9.
