Westborough – A special art exhibit featuring the work of nine local artists will be held at the 1717 Shoppe in Westborough from now until Saturday, April 29. The public is invited to the opening reception which will be held at the store’s 18 Lyman St. (Westborough Shopping Center) on Saturday, April 8 from 6-8 p.m.

This vetted group of artists exhibiting at Gallery 1717 is eclectic to say the least. Comprehensive in styles and professions; the one thread that ties them together is the Westborough schools. Many of them attended Westborough High School, or their children or spouse attended, or they teach/taught in the system.

The diversity of art work ranges from product illustration, fine art, marketing and graphic art.

The show features 28 pieces and includes work from local artists Mickie Aylward, Linda Crawford, Ernie D’Elia, Tim Evans, Rick Grayson, John Hayes-Nikas, Conor Nolan, Michelle Stevens and Edward Turner.

The 1717 Shoppe was opened late last year to help promote Westborough’s 300th anniversary this year. The  7,000-square foot shop features Westborough commemorative items, an art gallery, book corner, event space, and a variety of consignment items by artisans connected to Westborough.
