    School: Shrewsbury High School

    Class: 2017

    Sport: Football

    Coach: John Aloisi

What are your earliest football-related memories?

“In middle school, my friends convinced me to play football, and I eventually earned a starting spot at quarterback. I remember being very nervous for my first game, but once the game got going, I felt very comfortable and confident. That comfortable feeling stuck with me, and I still feel that way when I’m on the field.”

You’re a standout for both the football and basketball programs at Shrewsbury High. Which is more fun?

“I’d say football is more fun because it comes a lot easier to me. In football, you typically have one job per play, and once you get good at executing that job, it’s a whole lot of fun.”

What has it been like playing for Coach Aloisi?

“Playing for Coach Aloisi has been an extremely rewarding experience for me. Coach Aloisi always pushed me to be the best I could be, and has helped me develop a strong sense of integrity as both a player and a person.”

What was the most special moment of your football career at SHS?

“I’d say my most special moment was winning the Division 2 Central championship this season. I think central Mass. was loaded with a lot of good teams this year, and to come out on top after all our trials and tribulations was pretty special.”

What was it like to play in Gillette Stadium?

“My fellow captains and I were lucky enough to visit Gillette Stadium the week of the game with the other teams competing for a state championship. We got to walk on the field, and check everything out. When we ran onto the field and I saw myself on the Jumbotron, it really hit me and it felt very surreal. It was almost like a dream.”

What are your hobbies outside of football and basketball?

“When I’m not studying or playing sports, I like to hang out with my friends and do other activities. I also organize a couple of charitable events at Shrewsbury High that raise money for Veterans Inc. and the ALS Family Charitable Foundation.”

What is your favorite class in school?

“I really like my American government class, which is actually taught by Coach Aloisi. I like learning about how our country operates, and forming my own opinions based on non-biased facts.”

Who are your favorite NFL team and player?

“My favorite NFL team is definitely the Patriots, and not just because they’re my home team. The Patriots have perfected a winning formula, and carry themselves in a way that sets an example for young athletes. My favorite player is Rob Gronkowski because he is not only a phenomenal player, but he is also very funny and has a great personality.”

What is your favorite type of music, and artist in that genre?

“I listen to mostly hip hop and my favorite artist is Drake. I like Drake because he is very dynamic in regard to his ability to sing and rap.”

What type of legacy do you hope to leave behind at SHS?

“I want to be remembered as someone who did things the right way, and set an example for those around me. I also hope to have successors continue the charitable events I initiated.”
