Northborough – Francis “Fran” C. Ryan, longtime resident of Northborough and recently of Berlin, ended his long and ever valiant battle with cancer Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He was 66 years old.
Fran was born Oct. 1, 1950 in Westborough, son to the late Helen Dianna (Naples) DeSiata.
He leaves behind his son, Dalton A. Ryan of Shrewsbury; a sister, June (Ryan) Dinan and her husband Philip of Keswick, Canada; and a brother, Joseph DeSiata and his wife Priscilla of Northborough. Fran also leaves behind his nieces, Tricia Meyer and husband Darren and Krista Dinan and Darlene Wagner, as well as 3 great-nieces, Megan, Katelyn, and Avery. In addition he leaves his fiancé, Mary O’Brien.
Fran was an avid football fan and devoted follower of the Patriots. He looked forward to quiet times while fishing, spending time at Indian Head, and traveling to Kentucky to visit with family and friends. He has a passion for cooking and enjoyed working as a chef for many years at local restaurants. After retirement he drove for Van Pool Transportation.
