Marlborough – John M. “Jack” Kelleher, 85, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of Patricia “Patty” (Wile) Kelleher, to whom he was married for 36 years.

He was born in Marlborough, the son of the late John M. Sr. and Lillian (Richer) Kelleher, and lived here all of his life.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War, and went on to work for the former New England Telephone Company for over 30 years.

Jack was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of the Marlborough Country Club. He was a past president of the Marlborough Country Club, having served in the position for 20 years. He enjoyed reading and spending the winter with his wife in Delray Beach, Fla. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Timothy Kelleher of Northborough, Stephen Kelleher of Washington, and Marc Buchan of Marlborough; three daughters, Mary Kelleher of Marlborough, Susan Primeau of Norhtborough, and Lynne Kall of Hudson; one brother, Richard Kelleher of Marlborough; five sisters, Terese Rader of Falmouth, Elaine Hinckley of E. Longmeadow, Elanor Silva of Falmouth, Anne Hart of Falmouth, and Mary DiRienzo of Marlborough; eight grandchildren, Jessica Roy, Jason Primeau, Stephanie and Scott Kall, Jacob Kelleher, Meaghan Kelleher, and Alex and Ainsley Buchan; one great-granddaughter, Lia Roy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two siblings, Paul Kelleher and Kathleen Downs.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, at 11:30 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough.  Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, April 22, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., prior to the service.
