Jean M. Allain, 83, of South GraftonSouth Grafton – Jean M. (Gladd) Allain, 83, of Ferry Street, South Grafton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Wednesday April 19, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

She leaves her loving husband of 62 years, Rene L. Allain; four children, sons Michael Allain of Dudley, Richard Allain and his wife Celeste of South Grafton, Kenneth Allain and his partner Dawn Dubois of Millbury, and daughter Sandra Allain of Worcester; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister, Ann (Gladd) Labaire of Northborough/Grafton. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman Gladd, and sisters, Mary Normandin, Catherine Gladd, Magdalene Gladd, Ruth Nelson, and Rita Jeffery.

Mrs. Allain was born July 6, 1933 to the late Richard Anthony and Helen (Kelly) Gladd. She was raised in Grafton and graduated from Saint Basil Academy in Fox Chase, Pa.

She was active in the Saint James Women’s Guild. She loved animals, board and card games, Bingo and ten-pin bowling.

The family wishes to thank her wonderful caretakers, Gina Morales, Pam Letourneau, Melissa Lynch, and Alice O’Conner.

Calling hours were held Sunday, April 23, from 4-7 p.m., in the Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton. The celebration of a funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m., at Saint James Catholic Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s honor supporting the ministry work in Haiti of Fr. John Henault, 29 Blackstone St., Sutton, MA 01590.
