Hudson – Eileen V. (Blanchette) Lipkavich, 87, a longtime resident of Hudson, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Coleman House in Northborough. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Lipkavich Sr., in 1999, and had been married to him for 47 years.

Eileen was born June 15, 1929 in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (Ripley) Blanchette. She was raised in Marlborough where she attended local schools and worked for many years at Hudson Lock Company. In her spare time she enjoyed playing and volunteering her services for bingo at St. Michael’s Parish. Eileen was a member of St. Michael’s Parish and served as a volunteer quartermaster for the Hudson CYO Band.

She is survived by her son, Joseph J. Lipkavich Jr. of Hudson, and her daughters, Ann Lipkavich of Marlborough and Joanne Bucciero and her husband Joseph of North Carolina. In addition to her children, she is also survived by her six grandchildren, Mark Stewart, Carrie Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Wendie Bernard, Matthew Nissen and Jennifer Nissen, and her four great-grandchildren, Kailonie Stewart, Dylan Stewart, Preston Bernard, and Joleen Bernard, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph Blanchette and Richard Blanchette, and her sisters, Claire Collier, Rose Raiano, Anita Wheeler, Mary (Penny) Roe, and her twin sister, Ann Blanchette.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20 from the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St.,  Hudson, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. Calling hours will be Friday, May 19, from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
