Diana M. Wood, 71, formerly of GraftonWorcester – Diana M. Wood, 71, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

She is survived by many cousins and dear friends.

Diana was born April 29, 1946 in Worcester, daughter of the late Adeline (Opatka) and Henry Wood. Her roots were in Grafton, where she lived most of her life before moving to Northbridge a few years ago.

Diana had a love of horses from a very young age, people close to her knew she was an aspiring artist putting countless hours into her water color and oil paintings and charcoal sketches.

Close to home you were likely to find Diana with a book in her hand or perhaps a bible that she would read scripture from or using her talented hands to knit and crochet, usually donating the fruits of her labor to hospitals or other organizations in need. She found peace in feeding the birds each day near her home and despite her own limited means she donated to religious organizations, veterans, fire and police charities in an effort to share what she had. Friends and family of Diana would not be surprised to find hand-written notes from her in their mailboxes.

Please consider a donation to a favorite charity of your own in Diana’s memory.

All are welcome to visit with Diana’s family and friends Tuesday, May 30, from 10-11a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.

A Book of Memories to share a memory of Diana is available online at www.RoneyFuneralHome.com.
