Hilda A. Palmieri, 96, of HudsonHudson – Hilda A. (Oliveria) Palmieri, 96, of Hudson, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Wingate at Sudbury with her daughter by her side. Her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Harold, died in 1982.

Born and raised in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Relves) Oliveria and the late Ricardo Oliveria. Hilda was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1937.

She had a vivacious and outgoing personality, always smiling, with a love for life. She loved to socialize with everyone, was generous in spirit (always giving people items she thought would bring them joy, she was constant contributor to various charitable organization, loved to dance and make crafts. She cherished her Portuguese heritage, loved baking traditional Portuguese meals and attending various Portuguese celebrations and was a member of the Hudson Portuguese club.

She was a devoted friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Gold Star mother and was especially proud of her son who was a decorated soldier and a hero who gave his life in battle while in Vietnam. Throughout her illness, she continued to live her life with grace, dignity, and strength which was a source of support and comfort to her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane M. O’Connor (Palmieri); her two grandchildren, Jacob O’Connor, his wife Tammy and their two children Aidan and Kassidy and Erin O’Connor-Garcie, her husband Sean and their two children Kaylie and Dylan; and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 1, from 3-7 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 2, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will be held after the funeral at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 278 Cox St., Hudson.
