William C. Libby, 77, of MarlboroughMarlborough – William “Chris” C. Libby, 77, of Marlborough, died Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home after a short illness. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Chase) Libby for the past 28 years.

Chris was born in Newton, the son of the late William and Patricia (Ford) Libby and attended Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine and Holliston High School.

He worked at Raytheon for over 30 years as a Configuration Analyst in Marlborough and several other locations. Prior to that, he was employed with First National Stores, Inc. for many years.

Chris was a member of the Marlboro Fish & Game and the Marlboro Eagles, he was an avid Red Sox fan who enjoyed fishing, reading and trips to Newport, RI and Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He will be remembered by those who loved him as a fun-loving man devoted to family and friends.

In addition to the love of his life, Nancy, he leaves a son, Jason Libby of Marlborough; a daughter, Kristen Clingon of Marlborough; two step-daughters, Catherine Vitale and Suzanne Murray, both of Shrewsbury; a brother, John Libby of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Richard Kenny, Eric Taylor, Gina and Marco Vitale and Hillary, Hannah, and Andrew Murray; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Kenny and Caleb Taylor; and many nephews and nieces. He was the father of the late Eric Libby of Bellingham and brother to the late Michael, David, and Leo Libby, all of Maine.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 6:30 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St. Calling hours will be held prior to the service in the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Burial will be private.
