Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Department is seeking the help of local communities in the search for a missing Shrewsbury man, David Lajoie:
The Shrewsbury Police are looking for information on the whereabouts of a resident of Shrewsbury by the name of David Lajoie, 69 years of age. Mr. Lajoie lives at #2A Althea Path in Shrewsbury, which is located alongside Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury. He went for a walk around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon on November 4th and has not been in contact since. He goes for walks on a regular basis but it is out of the ordinary that he has not returned. We also have a confirmed sighting of Mr. Lajoie on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. on Franklin St. in Worcester. He was still on foot at this time.
The Shrewsbury Police have searched the area near his home on foot and also with Shrewsbury Police K-9 Officer Chad Chysna and his partner “Hunter”. The Lake Quinsigamond shoreline in Shrewsbury has also been searched by the Shrewsbury Police Boat patrol. The Commonwealth Fusion Center put out an alert statewide to law enforcement hoping to locate Mr. Lajoie. Also assisting was the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing who utilized their helicopter to search.
David Lajoie is described as a white male, 69 years of age, 5’11”, 170-180 lbs, bald with blue eyes. Last seen wearing a brown “Carhartt” baseball hat, an orange flannel shirt with a black vest. Also dark blue jeans and hiking boots. Mr. Lajoie is also suffering from early stages of dementia.
