Marlborough – Mary (Rizzelli) McDonough, 98, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late William E. McDonough, who passed away in 1984.

She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Enrico Rizzelli and Vincenza (Lombardo) Macomber, and lived in Marlborough all of her life.

Mary worked as an insurance agent for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for many years, retiring in 1986. She then went to work for Marlborough Hospital, working in central registration and the emergency room. She retired in 2010 at the age of 91.

She is survived by two daughters, Maureen McDonough of Marlborough and Judith McDonough of Millbury; two grandsons, Jason Morin and his partner, Anne McElroy, and Joshua Morin and his wife, Wilaiwan; three great-grandchildren, Julianna, Devin and Marcus; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m., in Saint Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will be private. An hour of visitation will be held Friday morning, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough.
