Hudson – Josephine “Jo” (Zendarski) Szelewski, 93, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edmund, in 2012.
Jo is survived by her three sons, John Szelewski and his wife, Lisa, of Thornton, N.H., Michael Szelewski and his wife, Marcia, of Delaware, and Roy Szelewski and his wife, Vicki, of New York, and her two daughters, Carol Szel of Tucson and Janet DePratti and her husband, Roland, of Connecticut. She is also survived by her three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Josephine was the youngest of seven children and her siblings have all predeceased her.
Jo was born and raised in Elizabeth, N.J. and spent 20-plus years living in the Tucson, Ariz. area before moving to Hudson four years ago.
She was a self-employed contractor as a bank reconciler for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed playing bridge in the club, singing at Cathedral in Tucson and traveling with her husband, Edmund. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
A calling hour will be held Friday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson. Final committal services will follow at Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
