Grafton – Representative David K. Muradian Jr. (R-Grafton) welcomed students from Grafton’s North Street Elementary School for a class field trip to the State House Oct. 26.

The group of fifth-graders were accompanied by teachers and chaperones for a fun day exploring the Massachusetts State House. Muradian treated the group to a tour of the building, including stops at the Executive Office and a visit to the Grand Staircase.

The group took a trip to the House Chamber where Muradian told them about the history of the chamber as well as the building itself. The tour also included stops to the Great Hall of Flags, Doric Hall and Memorial Hall.

“It was wonderful to welcome such an intelligent, energetic, and respectful group of students to the State House,” Muradian said. “It’s always a great experience to see the youth learning more about our democratic system. The commonwealth has a long history in regard to the creation of our country, and it was particularly exciting to watch the kids make the connection between where they were standing and its significance to Massachusetts.”
