Bruce Garland, 64, of HudsonHudson – Bruce Eugene Garland, 64, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Naples, Italy, the son of the late Howard M. and Mary A. (Johnson) Garland Jr., and was raised in Hudson. Bruce was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1971, and received a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Bentley College and a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School.

He worked as an accountant, having his own CPA firm in Hudson for many years. He was extremely bright, witty, and liked puns. He authored a charming children’s book, “A Tale of Willie the Whale.” Bruce was a proud survivor of Juvenile diabetes, having been inducted into the Joslin 50 Medalist Program.

Bruce leaves several cousins, including Karen Hansen Carpenter and daughters Kate and Julia; Sandra and Ron Bigham and family; and other cousins. He leaves his longtime close friend, Audrey Burney.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bruce’s life Sunday, Nov. 26, at 1:30 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 34 Felton St., Hudson.
