Maryann AugerGrafton – Maryann (Gniadek) Auger, 75, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert L. Augerl her daughters, Laura A. Giannini and her husband, Jason, and Mary E. Uhrich and her husband, John; her son, Mark R. Auger and his wife, Jamie; her grandchildren, Derek J. Uhrich and Ryan L. and Samantha A. Auger; her sister, Irene K. Picard; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, John J. Gniadek, Pauline M. Roche and Henry J. Gniadek.

Maryann was born May 28, 1942 in Uxbridge, daughter of the late Stella M. (Rak) and John F. Gniadek. For most of her life, she lived in South Grafton with her husband Robert where they raised their children. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Worcester State College.

Maryann worked in the Northborough public schools teaching second grade, in Northbridge as a Certified Reading Specialist, and also at UMass Memorial Diabetes Center as an Administrative Assistant closer to her retirement. Away from work she found her greatest joy as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Her funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 30 at St. Mary’s Church of Uxbridge. Burial will be private at a later date.
