Marlborough – V. Shannon-Krieger, 61, of Marlborough, passed peacefully at her home Monday, Nov. 27, 2017.
She was born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised in Bergenfield, N.J., the daughter of Elfriede (Mueller) Shannon of Frankfurt and the late Robert T. Shannon of New York.
She enjoyed quiet moments on her porch with a cup of coffee overlooking her flower garden. She also loved writing, cooking and entertaining.
Veola’s world was her son, Shawn E. Krieger and his wife, Kerri; her daughter, Alexis K. Dascoli and her husband, Mark; and her daughter, Kristina K. Krieger. Her life was enhanced beyond measure with the gift of becoming an Oma to her granddaughter, Layla Sophia and Schatzi “Bup.” She was the former wife of the late Ralph W. Krieger, and the loving sister to the late Charles P. Shannon, Linda J. Causey, Audrey C. Mauro, Lisa R. Shannon-Sury.
“In the arms of an angel, until we meet again.”
Calling hours will be held Friday, Dec. 8, from 6-9 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
