Jane Knapik, 99, of BoylstonBoylston/Grafton – Jane Knapik, 99, of Boylston, formerly of Grafton, passed away peacefully with family at her side Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 after a long struggle with dementia. She joins her loving husband of 65 years, Ziggy Knapik, who passed away in 2012.

She leaves her daughter Sue Brown and her companion CJ Saft of Grafton, grandson Tim Brown and his wife Chrissy and son Ryan of W. Conshohocken, PA, grandson Jeff Brown, his wife Claire and sons Oliver and Elliot along with many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Anne Goddard, Sophie Capezzuto, Irene Marceau and Theresa Stoskus.

Jane was born March 29, 1918 in Worcester, daughter of the late Sophie (Grusziwicz) and Vincent Baranowski. She was proud to have served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

Jane was known as an amazing seamstress who often made her own clothes. She remained close to her heritage and loved cooking Polish food. Following her retirement, she travelled to Europe and spent many winters in Florida.

All are welcome to gather with Jane’s family Thursday, Dec. 7, from 9-9:30 a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by the celebration of her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Philip’s Church, 11 West St., Grafton. She will then be laid to rest with military honors at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
