American FlagNorthborough – John T. Callahan, 68, of Northborough, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at home. He was the husband of the late Donna M. (Anderson) Callahan.
Born in Brookline, he was the son of the late Patrick L. and Margaret L. (Finn) Callahan. He was raised in the Gallivan Boulevard development in Mattapan and was a member of St. Gregory’s parish. He graduated from BC High and earned a bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University.

He was a retired Vietnam veteran, serving four years with the United States Army, in-country.

John was employed for many years as a clerk for the Veteran’s Administration Hospital system.

He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and loved, more than anything, to watch his children play sports.

John is survived by one son, Timothy P. Callahan and his wife Dayna of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Amy Beth Callahan of Mexico City; one step-daughter, Colleen K. Mullen and her husband Matt of Westborough; one sister, Kathleen Callahan of Boston; and four granddaughters, Reagan, Erin and Delaney Mullen and Teagan Callahan. He was the brother of the late Maureen MacDonald.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling hours at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 4-7 p.m.
