Mary McCormickShrewsbury – Mary V. (Roberts) McCormick, 74, of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Mary D. (Lynne) Roberts. She graduated from South High School.

She leaves her husband and soul mate, John “Jack” Mc Cormick; her children, Michael Niford and his wife Lacey of Charlton, Darren Niford and his wife Millie of Holden, Duane Niford of Holden, Scott McCormick of Austin, Texas, John McCormick and his wife Amy of West Boylston, and Tim McCormick and his wife Melanie of Lancaster; six loving grandchildren, Bret, Amanda, Zachary, Gabriela, Alyssa, and Kristi; and two brothers, Joseph and Donald Roberts. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, George Roberts.

Mary had worked at New England Envelope in West Boylston for over 20 years before she retired.

She enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary loved camping with her husband throughout the U.S., as well as dipping her toes in the beaches of New England whenever she could. Playing card games with the family was always fun for her, as well as reading. Mary was a passionate follower of the Patriots; this was well known to everyone she knew.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family Thursday, Dec. 21, from 4-7 p.m., in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A prayer service celebrating her life will be Friday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
