To the Editor:
The Westborough Veterans Advisory Board is proud to announce that the Dec. 12 blood drive was very successful. Quoting Kaity Lawler of the Red Cross, “the drive brought a total to 61 units of blood – which exceeded our goal and can help to save up to 183 lives! This is a tremendous drive for the Red Cross, and comes during a time of especially high need as we head into the challenging holiday season.”
Grateful thanks go out to the Westborough High School volunteers like AJ McLucas who helped distribute posters to spread the word; the groups that provided care givers to sit with the donors after giving blood; and to Jay Woodman at the Knights of Columbus for providing the ideal space for this endeavor. It goes without saying that the largest thank you goes out to the generous donors. There is no greater gift at this time of year than the gift of giving blood to possibly save a life.
Happy holidays,
Westborough Veterans Advisory Board
