Grafton – Kathleen A. Despres, 75, of Grafton, passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester.
Born in Northbridge, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Yvonne (Belanger) Despres. She was raised and educated in Westborough and earned a Master’s of Education at Anna Maria College in Paxton.
Kathleen was an elementary school teacher for the Westborough Public Schools for 37 years prior to her retirement, and was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough.
She enjoyed history, traveling and especially loved watching the Boston Red Sox. Kathleen and her sister, Mary, toured Europe many times exploring the history and cultures of many different European countries. London was her favorite city she visited. Many of her friends considered her to be an excellent cook. For the past seven years, she had a bakery stand at the Grafton Farmers Market.
She is survived by three brothers, Louis P. Despres and his wife Marion of Upton, Francis V. Despres and his wife Barbara of Ashby, and Thomas J. Despres of Westborough, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary F. Despres and Peter J. Despres.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be Friday, from 9-10 a.m., at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, prior to the Mass.
